If you could make one rule for a day that everyone would have to follow, what would it be?
I feel like this is changing and it would definitely change for me depending on the day. Like right now, the first rule that I thought of Is that on this day you should go to everyone who has wronged you or you have wronged and have a conversation about it. Talk that mess out because—I come from a Caribbean household. A lot of Caribbean-ness is in my family—I’ve seen so many folks stop talking to people who they really loved over the smallest things.
If you could be a pair of shoes, which would you choose and why?
Do you see how indecisive I am? Because I would also say it depends. There are days when I would feel like I would be a nice pair of stilettos but then there are other days when I feel like I’m just like a big cozy pair of slippers. Ok, I’m going with me on a daily basis: I’m a happy person, I’m very warm and cozy. So, I’m going to say a nice fuzzy pair of house slippers. Or maybe I should say boots? Were going with house slippers with fuzz on the inside. It makes a difference.
If there was one thing you’d want people to know, what would it be?
I want them to know that there will be times when I fall off the face of the earth and you won’t hear from me for weeks at a time but that is not because I don’t love you. I still love you and I still care about you. It’s just I’m such a big introvert and its hard for me to reach out to folks like that. But the love/ care that I have for them is still there in regardless of whether I’m talking to them everyday or not.
What inspires you on a daily basis?
I think what inspires me on a daily basis are the people that I love and really care about. Just the love that I feel for those people. When I’ve gone through sad times or times when I feel really frustrated with what I’m doing, my interactions with my family, or my friends, or Dave get me re-energized/ re-motivated. I think what inspires me are those people that I really care about…and love. That is what inspires me.
What is something you work on in your free time?
Other than sleeping, I would say knitting and writing poetry/ short stories. And I’m slacking on both of them because I haven’t been paying enough time and care for myself. But when I do, I love to knit and make little scarves and stuff for people. Those are just so freeing.
