Describe your perfect day.

Oh gosh. Ok. So, my perfect day. I would wake up whenever my body woke up. There wouldn’t be an alarm clock. I would wake up and open up all my blinds. Ideally, the weather would be gorgeous to the point where I could open up all my windows and get a really nice breeze through the house. I would start my day with some coffee (which I love). I’d have some coffee and probably some great eggs. Maybe an omlette with a little of shrimp or salmon on the side. Some gluten free toast with strawberry jelly. After that, I would go to the bank. Withdraw maybe about $300-$500 and just kind of tootle around town. If I see something that I like I would get it. But basically, it would be a day to explore, be out, and treat myself. I would probably start that during the daytime where its nice and sunny and I can sweat a bit. I would go for a jog. Just a nice jog for maybe about 45 minutes to and hour. Do some yoga, some nice stretches and shower. Get 100% gorgeous and just doll myself up. I’d go to a restaurant, if I had a favorite restaurant. If I knew a chef that knows how to cook the way that I like to eat then I would go to that restaurant. But if not, before I doll myself up, I would go into the kitchen and prepare a meal. Something really good so I can eat before I go out. From there, I would head out. Now ideally, where I would go is to meet an amazing man that I’m crushing on. We would just go out and have a good time. More than likely, we’d be sitting outside somewhere because I’m just an outdoor person. So: a park, a back patio, rooftop deck, or something. We would meet and have so much fun. Laugh forever. Then, I would come home. Maybe I wouldn’t come home. It all depends on where we are in the dating process. Maybe some other adult stuff would happen. And then I’d come home and go to sleep. So that would be my perfect day.

What food best describes you?

Wow. It’s gonna be something with a shell, because I do have a hard exterior. But once you get inside it’s so amazing. I’m gonna say shrimp. Only because I love shrimp. Once you open up that shell and get to that good juicy meat. Swirl it in some lemon juice or something. You’re like, “Oh my god. This is so freaking amazing.” I think that’s me. A person has to get through the shell. It’s not that hard. I’m not difficult. It’s just me. So, because of my experiences and different things, that’s me. But that shell. Once you open it up, it’s so good.

How have you changed in the last 5 years?

Oh, that’s easy. So, I don’t drink as much as I used to. I’ve also tried to be more consciously aware of my reactions and responses in situations. 5 years ago, when things irritated me or rubbed me wrong, I would just react off of it: whether that’s me cursing somebody out, deleting somebody, or blocking them. Sometimes it was for the good, but there were times when I thought “Damn. Slow down. Think it through. Don’t be so emotionally charged sometimes.” So, I’m trying to not do that too much.

If there was one thing you’d want people to know about you, what would it be?

The one thing I would want people to know about me is that I am so genuine. I am not gonna try to scam you. I’m not a liar. What you see is what you get. Sometimes people appreciate it and sometimes people can’t handle it. But that’s me. I’m gonna be 100% honest. I’m not a manipulator. I believe you should do onto others as you want done to you and I stand behind that 100%. I think that would be the sum of what I’d want everyone to know about me.

How would you define success?

So, for me success is where a lot of these worldly worries and woes are not even an issue. Right now, I wouldn’t say I’m successful because I still worry about money, building, and all those things. So when those things aren’t present, I feel like I’ve succeeded.

You’re designing a playground for adults. What’s one thing that has to be in it?

So, there’s gonna have to be a riding bull. I feel like a riding bull has to be there. One, because I’ve never been on one and they look like so much fun. And, when I look at people on them they look like they’re having so much fun. I would want it to be on of the bouncy ones, so when you fall off it doesn’t hurt. That’s what I would do.

If you could give a title to this chapter of your life, what would it be?

A title for this chapter of my life. It’s probably gonna be something to deal with transitioning. My son has now graduated. It’s not that I have an empty nest, but I realize he’s going to be going his adult way. I’m also getting into my acting and different ventures: the business and things that I want to do. So I’m just transitioning into different areas.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and what would you use it for?

This is so bad, but I’m gonna say it damn it because I am true to who I am. I would be invisible, and I would use it to get money from different banks or wherever. Whatever I wanted. I would just be invisible and go grab it. I know that sounds terrible, but I know a lot of people would probably do the same damn thing. So, that’s what I would do.

If you could make a rule for a day that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

Man, there’s so many different rules that I would have for people to follow. But the most important one I think right now is that everyone would have to cover their fucking mouth. Ok? Give me a full cover. Cover your mouth.

What’s the best lesson you’ve learned recently?

The best lesson I’ve learned recently is not to get discouraged when things don’t look the way you think they should look at that moment. Keep pushing forward and keep going towards what it is that you want to do. For me, that’s gold. Another person told me once that we’re living in moments in time. These moments are gonna leave unless you hold on and don’t let them go. That was strong for me as well because sometimes I just get stuck. It’s just a moment. It’s passing.

What activities make you lose track of time?

Working out. When I work out, sometimes I have to look at the clock like “Oh.” Or maybe my body is telling me. So, that and then dancing. I can dance probably from sun up to sun down. I freaking love dancing. There’s not a time when I’m gonna be like, “I’m tired of dancing.” You know what I’m saying? So those two activities. I can go forever.

If you could travel to any place in the world (all expenses paid) for twenty-four hours, where would you go and why?

I would 100% go to Africa. I’m getting my DNA researched right now with Ancestry. I cannot wait to get it back. I know I have to be from either there or Haiti. Some amazing island. I feel like I’m an islander on the inside. You know what I mean? So, I would go there. Wherever that ancestry goes back to. But, definitely gotta go to Africa because it’s the motherland.

If you could describe yourself as a pair of shoes, which would you choose?

I’m gonna say the type of shoe I am is a very supportive flip flop (not just them little dollar store flip flops) with arch support and cushion. I say that because I love to be super casual. I like to be able to just get up and go. When I throw on flip flops its like a “Shoop” and then you gone. I’m so easy going. I like for everybody to be comfortable and be themselves. To me, it’s a super casual shoe. So, I’m a flip flop.
